Instrumental Music

Band Classes:

Beginning – Students will start on either the Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, or Percussion using proper technique.  They will learn to play the instrument that they have chosen from the previous list.  They will then also learn how to read music on their chosen instrument.
Advanced – Students will continue learning on their instrument and more advanced music theory.  Developing a repertoire on their chosen instrument.  They may be allowed to learn more advanced instruments, such as the one of the other saxophones, oboe, bassoon, alto or bass clarinet, french horn, baritone, tuba, and additional percussion instruments, etc.

Orchestra Classes (Strings):

Beginning – Students will start on either the Violin, Viola, Cello, or String Bass using proper technique.  They will learn to play the instrument that they have chosen from the previous list.  They will then also learn how to read music on their chosen instrument.
Advanced – Students will continue learning on their instrument and more advanced music theory.  Developing a repertoire on their chosen instrument.

Guitar Classes:

Beginning – Students will start on Guitar.  They will learn to play the guitar using proper technique.  They will then also learn how to read music for playing with the guitar.
Advanced – Students will continue learning on the guitar, developing their technique and more advanced music theory.  Developing a repertoire on the guitar.

Symphony Orchestra Advisory:

This is an Advanced level class.  Students must have a minimum of one year of experience on an orchestral instrument from either the band or string orchestra classes, or if they know how to play piano, and know how to read music.  Students will learn to play in a symphonic orchestra setting combining band and string orchestra.
